Of Tongchuan prefecture, surname Wang; zi Jingsou. Ordained by Tucheng at Guangfu cloister in his home county, he studied under Biefeng and Tudu at Jingshan, working in silence; reading Wan'an's record one day, he had an opening. He then went to Fozhao Deguang at Ayuwang, connected with him, and came and went at his door for fifteen years. He held Boruo and Bao'en in Taizhou, then swept out a single room on the northern side of Feilai Peak and lived there ten years — men would not presume to use his personal name, and called him simply 'North Torrent', Beijian. He was later called to Tiefo, Xiyu, Bijun, Huiri and Daochang, and in the Jiaxi era was ordered to Jingci Guangxiao. Died 1246 aged 83. His Beijian collections shaped Japanese Gozan literature.
