Song master of Chaling in Hengzhou, a local man tonsured young who famously never went on pilgrimage (「茶陵郁山主不曾行脚」). An almsman from Lushan gave him the koan 「百尺竿頭，如何進步」 (Fadeng's answer: 「噁」); after three years he awakened when his donkey stumbled crossing a bridge and pitched him off, producing the celebrated verse 「我有神珠一顆，久被塵勞關鎖，今朝塵盡光生，照破山河萬朵」. He was the ordination master of Baiyun Shouduan, who wrote a verse in his praise.
