A late-Ming/early-Qing Chan master of Cuiting at Mt. Baiyun in Shuzhou, known only from the supplement to the Wudeng quanshu. A dharma-heir of Shanzi Yu of Lotan Baofeng, in the Linji line descending through Shanweng Daomin. His surviving sermons are pointedly anti-scenic and earthy — 'the mountains aren't clear, the water isn't pretty, yellow dirt and rocks, coarse as a dog' — and to a monk boasting of being 'not one thread attached' he shot back, 'You'd die of shame.'
