Surname Li, from Hanzhou; dharma heir of Yuanwu Keqin (1063-1135), 16th generation under Huineng. Studied Confucian classics young, later renounced lay life. Attained the essentials from Wuzu (i.e. via Yuanwu). Opened teaching at Dingzhou Deshan, later moved to Sushan, Daowu, and Dagui.
