Of the Zhang 張 family of Putian in Xinghua (Fujian); a licentiate before he ordained. Born on the eleventh of the eleventh month of 1630. Dharma heir of Yisou Xinggao (1616–1669), thirty-sixth generation below Nanyue. He held the seat at Tongtian for a year in obedience to his grandmaster's wishes. He died in the hour of chou on the eighteenth of the fourth month of 1698, aged 69, with 36 years in robes; his stupa stands on the right slope below Daibei hermitage.
