Northern Song master of the YUNMEN house, seated at 德山 in 鼎州. His teacher was 雙泉郁, a direct heir of 雲門文偃 — the lamp lineage table files him under the explicit heading 「雙泉郁禪師法嗣：德山慧遠禪師、含珠山彬禪師」 — so he stands exactly two generations below 文偃. This is independently corroborated by 契嵩's 鐔津文集 (11th century, contemporary), which calls 德山遠公 a 法孫, a dharma-GRANDSON, of 雲門匡真大師. His heirs include 開先善暹, 欽山悟勤, 鹿苑圭, 含珠山彬 and 盛懃. ⚠ HE IS NOT 廬山慧遠, the Pure Land patriarch who died in 416 — six centuries separate them; this man is a Song Yunmen monk at Dingzhou. ⚠ NAME: the corpus gives his teacher as the single character 郁 (雙泉郁). The expansion to 仁郁 rests ONLY on DILA, whose citation is （望月）— a 20th-century Japanese encyclopedia, i.e. EXTERNAL rung. I therefore record the teacher as 雙泉郁 and do not adopt the expansion.
