Co-founder of the Caodong school. Born 807 in Kuaiji (Shaoxing, Zhejiang). Created the Five Ranks (五位偏正) teaching and the Jewel Mirror Samadhi (寶鏡三昧). Enlightened upon seeing his reflection crossing a stream. Had 26 dharma heirs.
