Of Duchang, surname Liao. Tonsured at fifteen at Xianglin on Mt. Lu. He called on the master of Shishuang at Yangshan, then on Chijue at Jingshan in Zhe, without connecting; he then came to Wuzhun Shifan at Jingshan, and afterwards to Xiyan Hui at Tiantong. His presentation of the teaching followed Wuzhun's throughout, and he secretly matched his intent; he was made keeper of the canon, and later first seat under Wuwen Can at Kaixian. In the Jingding era he headed Yuantong, then Donglin, in 1292 moved to Ayuwang, and withdrew to Xuedou. In 1300 he took Tiantong. Died 1308 aged 88.
