From Changzhou in old Yu (Sichuan), lay surname Jin, born 1606. Tonsured at Wofo monastery, he was set going by Poshan Haiming, then went to Tianyin at Qingshan, Xuejiao at Jingshan, and finally to Miyun Yuanwu at Tiantong, where he awakened one midnight at the sound of the bell. He spent six years in retreat on Lotus Peak. When Miyun died and Linye Tongqi took the seat at Tongxuan, Linye called him back by verse and gave him the transmission in the winter of 1644. He held Falun, Faxiang, Qizhen, Daming, Fashen, Longyuan and finally Bao'an at Qishan. He died in 1665, aged sixty.
