From Wanxian in eastern Shu (Sichuan). Abbot of the Huangling Chan cloister. Dharma heir of Chunbei Guangde, thirty-eighth generation below Nanyue — the last generation recorded in the Jiaxing canon's Linji sequence. He co-edited his teacher's recorded sayings.
