Gulin Jiru 古林機如

School: Linji | b. 1632 | Teacher: Zhu'an Zhenyan

Of the Pan 潘 family of Shanghai; also called Daoxiong. Born on the third of the fifth month of 1632. Dharma heir of Zhu'an Zhenyan — 'the true son of Zhu'an, whose tallying with him was deepest' — he opened the dharma at Lianhua monastery at Wumen (Suzhou), where his eye of the way was clear and his forging of students exacting. His record was edited by his own disciples and prefaced in 1673 by Luo Zhenxing, who wrote that he was fit to revive the way of Cheqi and Jinming and shed light on Duanqiao.
