Dharma name Jiwu, hao Hefeng; thirty-third generation in the Linji seat. Of the Fei clan of Wumen (Suzhou); his father was Simei, his mother of the Gu clan. Tonsured at twelve at Luohan monastery in Songling under the vinaya master Ruizhi, and fully ordained at twenty under Poushi of Wanfeng. Judu Hongli of Lingyin singled him out and set him on 'the original face'; he had a first opening on seeing a lamp-wick spark, and broke through fully during a seven-day sitting in the Great Compassion hall, overhearing Judu goading the attendant at the next seat. He served as head of practice at Huayan, Guangxiao, Xianning, Jingshan and Tianning, spent a period at Jingdezhen building a road and giving out tea, then returned to Lingyin, where Judu confirmed him and gave him the robe and bowl. He held Longtan Fushan, Baoshu, Zhuyin, Jizhao, Fushan and Fushou. Died 1687 aged 62.
