School: Niutou | 668-752 | Teacher: Oxhead Zhiwei
Sixth and final patriarch of the Niutou school, residing at Helin Temple (Crane Forest Temple) in Runzhou (modern Zhenjiang, Jiangsu). His student Jingshan Faqin received the title 'National Teacher' (Guoyi) from Emperor Daizong, and his other famous student Niaoke Daolin ('Bird's Nest') became a celebrated figure through whom the Niutou lineage blended into the broader Tang Chan world.
