Caodong master and abbot of Shaolin, of the Huang family (one account says Wang), from Jinxian in Jiangxi. As a boy he was moved by watching a play, and went off to Funiushan to be tonsured by Tanran Ping; he later went south to Wansong at Jingshan, knocked at the door of Dafang Lian, and studied under Xiaoshan Zongshu, whose heir he became. In the autumn of 1574 he took charge of the Shaolin cloister. He died on the twenty-seventh day of the fourth month of 1585. He is the dharma-brother of Yunkong (Linshan) Changzhong, through whom the roster's own Wuming Huijing branch descends — the two trunks confirm each other.
