Qingdan of Huitong in Tanzhou, a native of Pengzhou surnamed Yan and a dharma-heir of Dawei Foxing Fatai in the Yangqi branch of Linji, making him a grand-heir of Yuanwu Keqin. He was released on hearing Fatai raise Zhaozhou's 'the old woman of Mount Tai has been seen through' at Deshan, served him long, and succeeded to his seat; his community was known for its strict and pure discipline.
