東京淨因枯木法成禪師 (1071–1128), lay surname 潘, a native of Heshuo. Caodong master of the 12th generation below Qingyuan, dharma heir of Furong Daokai. He first headed the Jingyin cloister in the Eastern Capital, then Jinshan and Xiangshan in Ruzhou, and ended his days at Jiaoshan. He was devoted all his life to seated 'dead-tree' meditation, whence the sobriquet 枯木 ('withered tree'). His 上堂 declares that only one who knows the matter above buddhas and patriarchs has any right to speak, describing such a one as 「六根不具，七識不全，是大闡提，無佛種性，逢佛殺佛、逢祖殺祖，天堂收不得、地獄攝無門」. Gao'an later criticised the luxury of his establishment at Jinshan.
