嘉定府九頂寂惺惠泉禪師 (1079–1145), lay surname 張 of Chengdu. Linji master of the Huanglong branch, dharma heir of Sixin Wuxin. Asked how to understand 「心迷法華轉，心悟轉法華」he answered 「風暖鳥聲碎，日高花影重」. He is best known for setting his own three phrases against Yunmen's: where Yunmen had 「函蓋乾坤、截斷眾流、隨波逐浪」, Jiuding offered 「飢來喫飯句、寒即向火句、困來打睡句」— adding that measured by the buddhadharma Jiuding stands downwind of Yunmen, but measured by worldly truth Yunmen stands downwind of Jiuding.
