Northern Song Chan master of the Linji/Huanglong line at Jiuxian in Longxing. A native of Langyuan in Shu (Sichuan), surname Chen, and a grandson of the Chancellor Chen Yaosou. Bright from childhood, he was ordained at twenty-four and studied in the lecture assemblies of Chengdu; the master Zhenjue Sheng, after debating with him, sent him travelling south. He left the gorges in the Yuanfeng era and toured the ancestral seats, finally entering Huanglong's room. Died 1120.
