Northern Song Linji-Huanglong monk, lay surname Peng, of Pingxiang in Yuanzhou (Jiangxi). Traveled to Donglin Changzong's assembly at the Zhaojue hall; long without formal sanction, until he was shown the 'Niaoke blows the down' (鳥窠吹布毛) exchange and suddenly awakened. Changzong confirmed him and made him head of the assembly; when Changzong was summoned to Donglin, 應乾 succeeded him at the Baofeng cloister of Letan.
