Lay surname Yang (楊), of Baodi (near Tianjin); born on the fifteenth of the ninth month of 1614. Abbot of the Zhengfa monastery at Guzhongpan on Mt. Pan (Jizhou, near Tianjin). He said from the seat in old age 'this old monk has been in the world seventy-five years'. His recorded sayings in four fascicles survive, cut by his disciple Langkong Shun. He is the heir of DABO XINGQIAN, whom he names in his transmission incense as 'the thirty-sixth generation of the orthodox line of Caoxi'.
