Primary monastic heir of Wansong Xingxiu. Succeeded him as abbot of Bao'en Temple in Yanjing. Compiled two major koan collections — Konggu ji (Empty Valley Collection) on Touzi Yiqing's verses and Xutang ji (Empty Hall Collection) on Danxia Zichun's verses. Invited to the Mongol court in 1268.
