Northern Song Linji master at Longtan in Tangzhou, dharma heir of Fenyang Shanzhao (11th generation under Nanyue). The lamp record preserves his staff exchange with Fenyang, who said of him: 'hereafter he will not yield to Linji' — to which he answered, 'the true command has already been carried out'.
