Tang-dynasty Chan master of Mount Song, dharma heir of National Teacher 嵩嶽慧安. His real name and family are unrecorded — 「不稱名氏,言行叵測」 — and he is known only by the nickname "Stove-Breaker" (破竈墮), earned when he struck a shrine's stove three times with his staff, declaring 「此竈只是泥瓦合成,聖從何來,靈從何起」 ("This stove is just clay and tile joined together; whence the sacred, whence the numinous?"), whereupon the stove toppled and its resident spirit was released. He has his own heir-section in the lamp records, headed by 嵩山峻極.
