Song master at Shanzheng Chan cloister on Mt. Quyuan in Quzhou; dharma heir of Shimen Ya of the same prefecture, who descended from Jiangshan Zanyuan. His sermon survives: 'You must look for it yourself and not seek it from another. As it is said — climbing the mountain, each must make his own effort; drinking the water, one knows for oneself cold from warm.' 14th generation under Nanyue.
