Tang-dynasty Chan master of Mount Yao in Raozhou, dharma heir of 福州大安 (Changqing Da'an, 793–883, second abbot of Guishan and himself an heir of 百丈懷海). Only a short set of exchanges survives in the Jingde Chuandeng Lu: asked the meaning of the coming from the West he answered 「仲冬嚴寒」 ('Midwinter, bitter cold'); asked about his deepest place, 「待汝舌頭落地,即向汝道」 ('When your tongue falls to the ground, I'll tell you'). He is also recorded in dialogue with 長慶慧稜.
