Master of Renwang cloister in Hangzhou, dharma heir of Longhua Yanqiu (d. c.960-963), who had received Changqing Huileng's mind-seal in Fujian. The lamp record preserves his answer to 'the road upward that the thousand sages do not transmit': 'Ask about the upward — bring it here.'
