Northern Song Linji master of the Huanglong branch; a native of Jiulong in Pengzhou, surnamed Li. He left the pass while still young, found his entry as soon as he reached Huanglong under Huitang Zuxin, and in time exhausted all his doubts. He returned to head Sansheng monastery in Hanzhou, later moving to Yunju. Known for the sermon 'the wooden buddha does not cross fire'.
