Chan master of Shengyin in Huai'an, a dharma heir of Fayun Bai in the Yunmen line, 南嶽下十三世. Asked how his own seeing-of-nature compared with a bodhisattva's daylight and a sravaka's moonlight, he answered 'struck out with one stroke of the brush.'
