Chan master of the Shengyin cloister at Linping, Hangzhou, a dharma heir of Yuwang Huailian in the Yunmen line, 南嶽下十一世. His sermon likens the matter to sun and moon hanging in the sky: it shines everywhere, but the blind do not see it and those under a basin do not know it.
