Chan master of Shimen in Xiangzhou, also known as 谷隱蘊聰 (Guyin Yuncong), with the honorific 慈照. A dharma heir of Shoushan Shengnian in the Linji line, 南嶽下第十世. His teaching turns on refusing both horns: 'Contrive a thought and you miss; stir a thought and you go askew — but neither contriving nor stirring is making a living in stagnant water.'
