Of Jiashan, Chen clan; born 1593. A Caodong master and a dharma heir of Zhanran Yuancheng. His record, the Shiyu chanshi fatan, runs to twenty fascicles and contains his 行狀. He had a large following of heirs whose dharma names all begin with 淨 — Jingzhu, Jingfu, Jingxin and others — several of whom became compilers and lamp-historians in their own right. Died 1648, aged 56.
