Influential Caodong master active during the late Jin dynasty and early Mongol period. Compiler of the Book of Serenity (從容錄, Congrong Lu, 1224), his prose commentary on Hongzhi Zhengjue's 100 verse-comments on old cases, composed at the urging of his lay disciple Yelü Chucai. Self-styled 'Old Man of Ten Thousand Pines' (萬松老人). Abbot of Bao'en Temple in Yanjing from 1197 until his death. His lineage became the dominant Chinese Caodong transmission through his disciple Xueting Fuyu at Shaolin.
