Chan master of the Yuanfeng cloister in Weizhou, a dharma heir of Tianbo Chongyuan Wenhui in the Yunmen line, 南嶽下十二世. Asked what the Way is he said 'I won't say' — 'Why not?' — 'Saying is an idle name.' His sermons are playful: the wooden uncle in the hall gets slapped once by the holy monk and twice by the rector while the bare pillar laughs out loud.
