Of Tongzhou; abbot of the Wuwei ('Fearless') hall at Guoqing monastery on Mt. Tiantai. He was a long-standing attendant of Sanfeng Fazang, and stood at Fazang's deathbed among the twenty-five who received his final words. The dharma he received, however, came from Fazang's heir TUIWENG HONGCHU (Jiqi Hongchu): Hongchu's own recorded sayings, the Nanyue Jiqi heshang yulu in ten fascicles, carry on EVERY volume the byline 'compiled by his dharma-heir disciple JIJI' (嗣法門人濟璣等編). His recorded sayings survive as the Xieyun Ji chanshi Guoqing Wuwei tang yulu.
