Song–Yuan Linji master of the 國清寺 in Taizhou, dharma heir of 雪竇大歇仲謙 and thus in the Songyuan branch of the Yangqi line. His surviving general sermon (普說) presses the matter of birth-and-death on travelling monks with a four-cornered dilemma: if birth-and-death exists, no one from antiquity has escaped it; if it does not exist, what do you make of the birth-and-death right in front of you? — and, holding all four horns at once, 「還有漏網底麼?」 ('Is there anyone who slips the net?').
