Xuejian Feng 雪澗奉

Of the Gong clan of Jianyang. Sharp from the start and never able to stomach meat. At seventeen he heard the Surangama and was moved, and took the robe at Zhiti. At twenty-six he went with Zhangren about Fengshan, Luoshan and Xuansha for two years, and knowing there was a matter under his own feet, crossed into Zhejiang and spent years with Zhenji. Then he came to Wuyi Yuanlai at Boshan, and at Shao hermitage, hearing a cock beat its wings and crow, he broke through at a stroke. He opened the dharma at Yingshan in 1646 and afterwards held Boshan itself, Gaoquan and Puning. He died on the 20th of the 6th month of 1670, aged 79, with 62 years in robes. His heirs included Suru Honghan, Zhizhi Hongnan, Yuanzuo Hongyu and Yisheng Hongxi.
