Linji master, dharma heir of Songyuan Chongyue (who as abbot of Lingyin is also styled Lingyin Chongyue). In 1201 he answered the call to Yunju on Mount Lu, and shortly afterwards was appointed by edict to Jinshan. He compiled his master's record of sayings in two fascicles.
