Yongji Rong 永濟融

School: Linji | Teacher: Jieweizhou Xingzhou

Of Gaizhou in Liaodong, Wang clan — a rare northeasterner in this literature. He preached in Manchuria: at Puci monastery in Guangning and at the Great Guanyin cloister on Mount Lü, where he gave his account of conduct in 1658. His transmission incense names Jiewei Xingzhou of the Ruru hall at Nanhu in Xiushui, Jiaxing, as his original master, in the 36th generation of the Caoxi line. He also records earlier study at Jinsu under Feiyin Tongrong, but names only Jiewei as 本師. His record preserves a scene in which a rival sect sent a man called 'Solitary Step' to crowd his seat with a mob.
