Of Xuzhou (Yibin) in Sichuan, Fan clan, descended from a Fan who had been a prefectural commander; a monk of Chaoyang monastery in Xuzhou. A dharma heir of Tieniu Deyuan. He matters chiefly as the transmission link he is: Poshan Haiming's grand-teacher line runs through him, and Zhangxue Tongzui's stele quotes the sentence 'he got the dharma from the old man Yueming Lianchi'. Died 1639, sitting upright, aged 66.
