From Changguo in Ming prefecture, lay surname Li, born 1242. Small of body and fierce of temper. He was tonsured by Zhiweng Deju and went to the bottom of the Caodong teaching under him. He held Shimen at Cixi, Xiangshan, Zhimen and Tianning, and finally Tiantong, where students came from Korea and Japan. He wrote the Baojing sanmei xuanyi. He died in 1324, aged eighty-three, after sixty-five years in robes.
