Major Song Linji (Yangqi) master (1085-1150), 明州育王佛智端裕禪師, honorific Fozhi 佛智 (Buddha-Wisdom). A native of Shaoxing, surname Qian 錢; ordained at Dashan monastery. He first called on Jingci Yi and worked through Longmen Yuan, Ganlu Zhuo and Letan Xiang before coming to Yuanwu Keqin, whom he first attended at Tianning Wanshou monastery as recorder and then as sub-abbot sharing the seat. He opened the hall at Danxia, then Huqiu, Wanshou and Baoning, then Xuanmiao and Xichan at Shoushan in Fujian; by imperial order he was installed at Lingyin, and late in life moved to Ayuwang, the seat that names him. He is remembered for the saying the batch cites: 「一法若有,重重鐵壁銀山;萬法若無,處處沈空滯寂」 — if a single dharma exists, iron walls and silver mountains layer on layer; if the myriad dharmas do not, then everywhere is sunk in emptiness and stalled in quiescence.
