明州育王曇振真戒禪師, a Song Yunmen-line master, 13th generation below Huineng, and the eighth abbot of Ayuwang shan in Mingzhou. Dharma heir of Ruiyan Zihong (d. 1096), who was in turn an heir of Tianyi Yihuai (993–1064) — placing him securely in the Yunmen line, as the 雲門山志 succession table also shows. A recorded 上堂 opens 「今日布袋頭開，還有買賣者麼？」— when a monk answered 「有」he replied 「不作貴，不作賤，作麼生酬價？」and, at the monk's silence, 「老僧失利！」
