Zhe'an Jingfan 蔗菴淨範

Styled Weize, called Zhe'an, of the Ji clan of Wujiang in Gusu, born 1620. He left home at fifteen, was shaved at eighteen, heard Xuehang lecture on the Vijñaptimātratā at twenty, and while resting from communal labour at Bian shan heard a clap of thunder in the Zhengzhong pavilion and had his opening. He took full ordination at twenty-one at Ruiguang, called on Zhishi, Xueqiao, Yu'an and Tiantong, and in 1649, aged thirty, received the Caodong dharma-seal from Yu'an (Sanyi Mingyu). He held Zisheng at Zuili, Xiansheng at Yunmen, Husheng at Caoshan, Guangfu at Dongta and Tianhua at Dongguan. A fine calligrapher; his recorded sayings run to thirty fascicles. He died in 1692, aged seventy-three.
