鎮州大悲和尚, a Tang-dynasty Linji master and dharma heir of Sansheng Huiran (himself a direct heir of Linji Yixuan) — i.e. a dharma-grandson of Linji. Recorded exchange: a monk said 「除上去下請師便道」; he answered 「我開口即錯」. The monk replied 「真是學人師」, and he said 「今日向弟子手裏死」.
