涿州紙衣和尚, better known as 克符道者 ('Kefu the Wayfarer') — a direct dharma heir of Linji Yixuan, so a first-generation Linji master. He awakened on the spot when Linji answered his four questions on the 四料簡 (the four discernments of person and object), and afterwards composed the celebrated set of verses on them. The batch citation 「人境俱不奪。思量意不偏。主賓言少異。問答理俱全。」is the fourth of those verses. He also left a well-known four-fold answer on 賓主 (guest and host).
